------------
I guess you would have to live in London to get these...
You know you've been living in London too long when....
1. You say "the City" and expect everyone to know which one.
2. You have never been to The Tower or Madame Tussauds but love Brighton
3. You can get into a four-hour argument about how to get from Shepherds Bush to Elephant & Castle at 3:30 on the Friday before a long weekend, but can't find Dorset on a map.
4. Hookers and the homeless are invisible.
5. You step over people who collapse on the Tube.
6. You believe that being able to swear at people in their own language makes you multilingual.
7. You've considered stabbing someone.
8. Your door has more than three locks.
9. You consider eye contact an act of overt aggression.
10. You call an 8' x 10' plot of patchy grass a garden.
11. You consider Essex the "countryside"
12. You think Hyde Park is "nature".
13. You're paying £1,200 a month for a studio the size of a walk-in wardrobe and you think it's a "bargain".
14. Shopping in suburban supermarkets and shopping malls gives you a severe attack of agoraphobia.
15. You pay more each month to park your car than most people in the UK pay in rent.
16. You pay £3 without blinking for a beer that cost the bar 28p.
17. You actually take fashion seriously.
18. You have 27 different take-away menus next to your telephone.
19. The UK west of Heathrow is still theoretical to you.
20. You're suspicious of strangers who are actually nice to you.
21. Your idea of personal space is no one actually physically standing on you.
22. £50 worth of groceries fit in one plastic bag.
23. You have a minimum of five "worst cab ride ever" stories.
24. You don't hear sirens anymore.
25. You've mentally blocked out all thoughts of the city's air/water quality and what it's doing to your insides.
26. You live in a building with a larger population than most towns.
27. Your cleaner is Portuguese, your grocer is Somali, your butcher is halal, your deli man is Israeli, your landlord is Italian, your laundry guy is Filipino, your bartender is Australian, your favourite diner owner is Greek, the watch seller on your corner is Senegalese, your last cabbie was African, your newsagent is Indian and your local English chippie owner is Turkish.
28. You wouldn't want to live anywhere else until you get married.
29. You roll your eyes and kiss your teeth at the news that someone has thrown himself under a tube train.
30.Your day is ruined if you don't get a copy of Metro on the way to work.

The method behind her madness: Part One- The Human Anatomy
Ever since I was a wee young lad, I've always been fascinated by the human body and all of its oddities and grossness. Nonetheless, I'm going to start off my "method behind her madness" series of posts with one of my favorite stationery sets to create.
While perusing through my favorite used bookstore, I came across "The Anatomy Coloring Book" and thought it might be interesting to either 1) color it in as if I was a med student, or 2) slice and dice it up into one of a kind handmade envelopes that my customers would enjoy just as I did.
The latter decision prevailed and now I have a plethora of these fantastic envelopes with cartoon-like illustrations of the human body and its bazillion gooey organs.
Best for: medical students, nurses, doctors, anatomy and physiology teachers(you might get an A for it!), physical therapists, chiropractors and anyone who has an appreciation for the oddities of the human body like myself.
Each stationery set is $12.50 and comes with flat white notecards.

What's the deal with Twitter!?
My first encounter with Twitter (www.twitter.com) was during the devastating 2007 October wildfires that were ravaging San Diego County. I wasn't able to get to work since Interstate 5 was closed and I was super worried about the safety of our home. The fire was a little over 5 miles away, but in some cases 5 miles was only a couple of minutes notice. KPBS had a fabulous Twitter feed of the fire and its location in Fallbrook, so I was glued to my computer screen waiting for something to happen.
I was reintroduced to Twitter about a year later after hearing some success stories on the Etsy Forums, and decided to give it a shot. I figured I should start following people who might like my envelopes and would likely buy them... so I started following 2000 of Etsy's followers (https://twitter.com/Etsy/followers). They follow Etsy... they must be keen on the site and how it works!
Inquisitive as ever, now that I've entered the world of social networking in a medium other than Myspacing it up or incessant poking my friends on Facebook, I started looking for tools that would make my Twitter experience more favorable. I found the site FriendOrFollow (www.friendorfollow.com) useful because every few days it is necessary to un-follow the people who didn't follow me back after I followed them. This way I have more room to follow more people who might love my envelopes.
I don't want to sound like a complete jerk for following people just so they'll look at my stuff... I mean, its totally cool, but at the same time, I've met some awesome people through Twitter and am always able to get instantaneous feedback about anything from what I'm going to eat for lunch to how much the Chargers are going to kill it next season=)
According to my Google Analytics, since January 11 when Etsy allowed us to place the tracking codes in our shops, I have had almost 4000 views in my shop and 64% of which were directly attributed to Twitter.com which is a pretty hefty percentage in my book! In addition to the views, I've been featured in 7 blogs and have made a couple Front Page treasuries... probably because of Twitter.

Why adnagam?!
Inquiring minds want to know why I chose the name adnagam for my envelope and stationery shop on Etsy. Basically, in not so many words, it is maganda backwards. We Filipinos love our plays on words and maganda is one of my favorite words in the language.
And so the story goes... I have been making my own stationery, envelopes and cards since late in 2008. It started as a kitchen table project and has morphed into a kitchen table, living room, computer room and bedroom project. I make my cool stationery out of any fancy book I can get my hands on and sell my fancy paper goods on Etsy.
Etsy has been a great venue for me to sell my stationery, envelopes and cards because it provides budding sellers all of the tools needed to succeed in an otherwise confusing situation.
More blog posts are certainly to come, but in the meantime...check out my shop at http://adnagam.etsy.com or for more frequent shop updates and to be the first to see new stationery when it comes out... Follow me on Twitter at http://www.twitter.com/adnagam
Cheers!
